The symptoms of this disease start appearing long back, but people do not pay attention to them. Because of which most of the cases are reported in the advanced stage. In such a situation, treating patients becomes a challenge. According to the report of the medical journal The Lancet, in the year 2022, the number of cancer cases in the country is 14,61,427.

According to doctors, the number of cancer patients has increased since Kovid. Lung cancer, bowel cancer, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer are spreading the most in the country. Due to these, the figures of death are also increasing. This is happening because of the non-recognition of the disease on time. This situation had worsened after the Corona epidemic. Due to delayed treatment, the number of deaths due to cancer also increased. Now people are falling prey to cancer even at a young age. Non-smokers are also getting lung cancer. Cancer cases are increasing due to poor lifestyle, wrong eating habits. This disease is becoming a big threat for the future.

Patients did not come to the hospital due to fear of corona

Dr. Rohan Khandelwal, HOD of The Breast Center at CK Birla Hospital, says that people avoided coming to hospitals for several months due to the fear of the corona epidemic. In such a situation, cancer disease was increasing rapidly in him. Due to lack of timely treatment, the disease was increasing. Immediately after Kovid, we have seen an increase in the number of patients coming with last stage cancer. This trend was observed for a few months. Although the situation is fine with Covid for several months now, patients are coming to the hospital again.

Breast and colon cancer is spreading

Dr. Rohan explains that breast cancer is spreading rapidly among women in India. It has overtaken cervical cancer, which is now the second most common cancer among women. It has been estimated that one out of every 25 women in the country will have breast cancer. However, timely detection of symptoms can easily prevent breast or any other type of cancer. The number of stomach cancer patients is also increasing rapidly. Bad food is a big reason for this.
