Pune. Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Saturday that some people are deliberately spreading misinformation about the China issue. Jaishankar said that ‘China had occupied India’s land in 1962, while some people say that it has happened recently. Jaishankar said this during a question-answer session at the launch of ‘Bharat Marg’, a Marathi translation of his book ‘The India Way’ here in Pune.
Regarding the Indus River Water Treaty (IWT) between India and Pakistan, S Jaishankar said that it is a technical matter and the Indus Commissioners of the two countries will talk to each other on this issue. When asked about the lack of trust of some people or leaders of political parties on the Government of India regarding the military standoff between India and China in Eastern Ladakh, the External Affairs Minister said that ‘there are some people in the opposition, who have such a thinking, which It is very difficult for them to understand. However, he said that sometimes such people deliberately spread false news or information about China.

Jaishankar said, ‘If you want to ask why they don’t have faith, why are they misleading people, why are they spreading wrong news about China? How can I answer these questions? Without naming anyone, the External Affairs Minister said, “Sometimes they talk about some land which was taken by China in 1962. But they won’t tell you the truth. They will make you feel that this incident happened only yesterday.
